Rivieralla pidimme leiriä Cannesin kaupungin laidalla: villa oli korkealla vihreillä kukkuloilla rauhallisessa Super Cannesissa. Villasta näkymät olivat lahden yli Juan-les-Pinsiin ja Cap d’Antibesiin, Cannesin lahti pilkotti naapuritalon takaa. Holiday on Instagram postauksessa vilahti kuvaa jo hulppeasta maisemista, mutta vietimme villan altaalla sen verran paljon aikaa, etta kuvia näköaloista riittaa oman postauksen verran. Lähitulevaisuudessa, oikeasti, lupaan!
In Côte d’Azur we held our fortress at a rented villa high up on the hills of Cannes in quiet and green Super Cannes. We enjoyed amazing views over the bay towards Juan-les-Pins and Cap d’Antibes. Holiday on Instagram post gave a sneak peak of the amazing views we had, but having spent quit a bit just relaxing by the pool at the villa I had plenty of time to photograph every little details to have enough material for a separate post. Soon, promise! But here we go, snaps from out and about in the South of France.
First stop: St Paul-de-Vence. Our French babysitter recommended the medieval fortress villa inland west from NIce. Village is pretty, cobble stoned narrow alleys old town filed with art galleries (town is known for modern art) and outside the village walls a proper French village square with restaurants and a pentaque piste.
It’s obvious I didn’t have time for a pre-holiday spray tan! I was melting in the scorching midday sun.
We drove down to central Cannes for a afternoon: only two photos I managed to take. Loads of shops to temp but maybe next time. All I managed was toilet rolls from Monoprix. Any villa management company please note: it’s all good to receive a lovely welcome hamper but no spare toilet rolls in just seems a bit… cheap.
All of us – me, Hubby and Bootot were joined by my mum and aunt for few days – ventured to Antibes for a midweek dinner. Now the restaurant name has disappeared my mind, but it was in the Old Town with a outside sea view terrace.
When we drove our holiday guests (cum baby sitters) back to airport in nice we popped briefly down to Monaco. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed driving his car down the Monaco Grand Prix ‘track’ and parking the car just by casino felt, surreal. Somebody failed to charge the camera batteries so only pictures from Monaco are dreadful iPhone photos.
It was all well and good packing lots of pretty maxi dresses and cute tees. I even brought jeans with me even tough I knew full well I wouldn’t need them… Temperatures during our stay hit plus 30°C every day so apart from spending most time in bikinis by the pool I ended up wearing only couple of dresses. This Whistles number was one of them.
